Edward-Eastern Conference (n)

In today's post we are going to be talking about the Eastern Conference. The Eastern Conference looks to be very competitive this year as many teams have acquired key role players in the off-season. Along with trades many players have also returned from injuries last year that will have heavy impacts on there teams. The top team in the eastern conference coming into the season is the Miami Heat. Miami looks to 3-peat this year under the possible best player in the world Lebron James. My personal choice to win the eastern conference though is the Indiana Pacers. Indiana took the Heat to game 7 in the Eastern Conference finals last year making it a nail biting series for both fans.Indiana probably has the best duo in the NBA with Roy Hibbert manning the paint and all-star shooting guard Paul George. Paul George had a break out year last year and is now emerging as one of the best in the entire league. Indiana plays tremendous defense and has the scoring to be able to win the high scoring games as well. Another team to look out for is the Brooklyn Nets who recently acquired Paul Peirce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry from Boston. With new head coach Jason Kidd it will be interesting to see how they will do throughout the season. Also a major power to be among the Eastern Conference heavyweights will be the Chicago Bulls who finally get Derrick Rose back who missed all of last year with an ACL injury. The Eastern Conference will surely be something fun to watch this year and I'm excited to see how it all pans out.

Austin- Western Conference (n)

We are approximately 12 games into the season, and the Western Conference is starting to take shape. To no surprise, the Spurs find themselves atop the conference, with a 10-1 record (5-0 at home). On a more surprising note, the Portland Trail Blazers are in 2nd place in the West with a 10-2 record. The Trail Blazers did some significant things in the off season, including the signing of Thomas Robinson. The Trail Blazers are in the prime of their revolution, where we are no longer focused on Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, but the focus is now on LaMarcus Aldridge and phenom Damian Lillard. It's going to be interesting to see what Portland becomes as the year progresses. OKC is next, to no surprise, followed by the band-wagon team of the year, the Golden State Warriors, led by a young star in Stephen Curry and Andre Igudala. LA (yes, the Clippers), Houston and Memphis round out the rest of the top 8. The underrated Timber wolves are a half-game out of the 8 spot, with a 7-6 record. Phoenix, New Orleans and Denver are each at 5-6 right now. Denver, injury-plagued and star-lacking may have an unsuccessful season as they failed to rebuild in the off season. New Orleans on the other hand, has some potential. Their starting 5 is as follows; Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Tyrekee Evans, Ryan Anderson, and Anthony Davis. Austin Rivers comes off the bench. The Lakers, Kings and Jazz close out the rest of the conference. I'll wrap up the post with this statement; "Kobe is back!"
